Students Raise Awareness for Mental Illness

The Leo Club at Sherrard Middle School hosted a RAM Out Stigma Day to raise awareness about the stigma associated with mental illness in our society. The club also sponsored a poster contest, along with the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The winners of the poster contest are: Hayley Boone, first; Grace Anderson, second; and Aliyah Pelley, third. Their posters are pictured above.

The National Alliance on?Mental Illness, or NAMI, will host its first Stomp Out Stigma walk at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 at Good Lake, Wheeling Park.
