Families who are looking for a safe place for their kids to go after school that also will teach them good study habits may want to consider the Laughlin Memorial Chapel after-school program. Laughlin Chapel, located on 18th Street in Wheeling, will begin its after-school program at the end of September.
The program is designed to help the children of Ohio County to maintain or develop good study habits, assisted by Laughlin staff and students from Bethany Collage, West Liberty, University and Wheeling Jesuit University. Children get accurate help with homework and skilled tutoring sessions. They also are provided with an afternoon snack and dinner. In addition, clubs are available for them to join, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Ms. Debbie Miller's Girls Club, Grow Ohio Valley and the Young Lions Drum corps.
