As a parent, having a healthy family relationship also means that you take time for yourself and know your own limits.
Assess your schedule and try to set aside time for rest and healthy activities including: exercise, time alone with your spouse or get a “time out” when the pressure builds beyond tolerance.
Explain to your children, “I just can’t help you right now ... let’s do your homework in one hour.”
Being a balanced and well-rounded parent allows you to “shoulder the load.”
