| | Homemade PedialyteMarch 2, 2012 - Audra MichelleI hate seeing my kids sick, don't you? My 21 month old has had a rough week. He was diagnosed on Tuesday with a double ear infection plus a respiratory infection that started 2 weeks prior. Last night the poor guy was throwing up. So today we rest. And do laundry. LOTS of laundry. I am hoping the other two - especially the baby - don't get sick too! As I was resting with the little sickie (who is much better, by the way), I came across a very timely blog post teaching how to make homemade pedialyte! If you've had a sick little one recently, you've seen how expensive the real stuff is to buy - even store brand. The homemade version uses ingredients that you likely already have at home. It's important to replenish those electrolytes after sick bouts! Here's my favorite all-natural recipe. I have all these items at home on a regular basis. Make sure to check the link (to the right) to Baby Good Buys for the original post with more recipes that may work better for your families. ==>>> Homemade Pedialyte Recipe #3 2 quarts water 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup orange juice Mix all ingredients together and serve. Refrigerate up to 3 days. Once the little one falls asleep, I'll be making this and freezing into ice pops for him. Have you made your own pedialyte before? Frugally yours, Audra Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | Blog Photos![]() My poor sicke Blog Links |
