Homemade Foaming Hand Soap

September 30, 2011 - Audra Michelle
Have you ever used foaming hand soap?

I LOVE that stuff!

It is such a great tool for washing little ones' hands. It rinses very cleanly and it just feels nice!

The downside?

It is EXPENSIVE!

Well, Crystal over at Money Saving Mom reminded me how easy it is to make this myself and reminded me of how much I could save by making my own.

First, the expensive part. Make sure you have a foaming hand soap dispenser. You can ask a friend to save you one or you can just bite the bullet and just purchase one (at least you can use the soap until it's empty!) if you don't already have one.

Next, you simply combine the ingredients!

- Ingredients

* liquid hand soap (anything that isn't creamy will work) * water

Pour 2 Tablespoons of the liquid hand soap into the bottom of the foaming soap dispenser. Slowly fill the bottle the rest of the way with water. Swish it gently back and forth to mix. Be sure not to shake or else it will be far too bubbly!

You are DONE!

I love that I can control the ingredients. I can choose whatever soap I want. Since the foaming soap only uses a couple tablespoons of the liquid soap, your liquid soap will go many times farther.

Have you made your own foaming hand soap before? Check the links on the right for more ways to stretch your dollars!

Frugally yours,

Audra
